We celebrated our 10th birthday on November 14! Time has flown by thanks to all the exciting projects with our customers. We wouldn’t be where we are today without our standing customers – that’s why we invited them to a stand-up dinner and knowledge sharing event on the topic of ‘Self-organisation and leadership’ at our Ernastrasse office. We enjoyed a delicious dinner as well as inspiration from Moreno Della Picca, an academic occupational and organisational psychologist, and Hermann Arnold, co-founder of the software company Haufe-Umantis.
During the course of the evening, the guests discussed each speaker’s ideas, with the question of individual responsibility during the transition from hierarchical leadership to self-organisation proving particularly contentious. Hermann Arnold described his everyday working life, highlighting how Haufe-Umantis already embodies this approach. The company tried many different things during the transition, and even if not everything was successful at first, it was nonetheless able to learn a lot and develop itself further as a result. In today’s world, open-mindedness and employee participation are vital for a company, and these can only be fostered by a flexible organisation that is prepared to learn from its mistakes.
