Agility in September

In September there were three different events focused on «Agile» in Switzerland. We were delighted to attend the Lean, Agile & Scrum Conference as a silver sponsor. This year, experts cast a critical eye on the present and future of agile leadership and discussed new solutions and approaches. One workshop – facilitated by Philipp Engstler and the Flowdays Team – explored the fundamentals of agile and continuous development and highlighted the key principles, values and factors that can help define an agile organisation.

In his keynote speech, Niels Pfläging offered a range of practical tips for project work, human resource management and self-organisation, and introduced us to useful tools to help dynamic-robust organisations build resilience for turbulent times. These so-called Complexitools are smart strategies suitable for every type of organisation and market.
Using them enables companies of all sizes, from startups to major corporations, to develop continuously.

At the fourth Agile Leadership Day and at the Agile Bodensee Conference, I focused on the topic of agile transformation with the help of my SBB partner Stefano Trentini. Using the example of the SBB, we demonstrated how an organisation with around 1,500 employees – and in particular its management – can develop in an agile manner. We stressed the vital role that openness and the desire to change play in the process, as well as the necessity of teamwork and assumption of responsibility by the management.
